As 2024 comes to an end, Natasha and I have had a sweet time reflecting on how far we have come and all the amazing things that have happened at Solace Media, from an Italy getaway to serving over 55 clients in 2024. When we started the company over 11 years ago with just the two of us, we had no idea we would one day be working with some of the most amazing organizations alongside a whole team of incredibly talented professionals. Thank you for being a part of our journey!

We had such joy looking back at this year, we wanted to share a few of our highlights with you.

See the list here as well as get a sneak peek into January 2025

7. Sunny & Natasha in Italy
After a decade of love and partnership, we finally went on our dream anniversary getaway to Italy! Venice captivated us with its maze of romantic canals, while Florence offered a breathtaking escape among Renaissance treasures and rolling Tuscan hills. This trip signified something extraordinary for us – our first full week of pure, uninterrupted togetherness since saying “I do,” made possible by our incredible team back home who kept everything running seamlessly. This time together brought a renewed sense of peace as we reflected on both 10 years as husband and wife – and as business partners!

6. Team Solace Unites

While technology enables our team to collaborate seamlessly, nothing quite matches the magic of in-person connections. This summer marked a special milestone as we brought our Solace Media team together in Houston for the first time. Our U.S. team members flew in for a week filled with meaningful moments – from visiting amazing clients in person to crafting homemade Indian pizzas in our kitchen and celebrating with a client-appreciation happy hour at Axelrad.

We couldn’t leave out our Front-End Developer Sander, who lives in Colombia – so we had some fun creating a cardboard cutout of him for our team photos. And yes, “Cardboard Sander” was quite the hit! A few months later, I had the chance to visit Colombia on a missions trip and finally met the real Sander in person – who, by the way, has much more to say than his cardboard version.

5. StoryBrand Podcast and Summit

It’s so fun when you get an opportunity you just did not see coming! Christian Hinojosa and Natasha sat down at the StoryBrand HQ studio in Nashville to record an episode of Marketing Made Simple – Talkin’ Shop. They shared how to effectively use the StoryBrand framework for nonprofits, and as Dr. JJ Peterson noted, these insights proved valuable for for-profit businesses too. They unpacked how to:

  • Craft BrandScripts tailored to different audiences
  • Make your donors, staff, volunteers, and Board feel seen, valued, and ready to act
  • Use ethical storytelling that taps into hope, vision, and clarity

4. Laying a Foundation for Growth Rebrand and Strategy Sessions

Our successful partnership with Fundraising Expert Angela Burgess from Broad Oaks Consulting has helped numerous nonprofits achieve breakthrough revenue by combining fundraising and marketing in an affordable way.

This year, we gave this proven program a fresh new look after a day long strategy session!

The redesigned website now clearly showcases how organizations have experienced growth through our unique 6-month program of online learning, 1:1 coaching, and done-for-you marketing services.

Visit our new website to see these success stories and learn how your nonprofit can find the path to sustainable growth, even with limited resources and time.

3.  Monthly Webinars

This year, we launched our free 30-minute webinars that have become a monthly highlight, packed with valuable information for both nonprofits and businesses.

From “Strategies for Successful Visual Branding” to “Nonprofit Websites Done Right,” we’ve featured insights from both our expert team and amazing guest speakers.

As attendee Jennifer Adkins of MESA Outreach shared, “I’ve attended other webinars with other companies, and I walked away with more information in 30 minutes from your webinar than I’ve gotten in full day conferences other places.”

While we’re taking a December break, we’ll be back in January!

2. Launching Our Own Rebrand and New Website

As we have had the privilege of helping mission-driven organizations tell their stories through powerful branding and websites, we realized our own story needed room to grow. We’re excited to finally invite you closer to our hearts through real photos, clear services, and heart-on-our sleeve messaging. Check out our new website, where you can:

  • Explore our resource hub with regular blog updates and actionable insights. (Pro tip: make sure to bookmark our blog page!)
