From Pineapples to Analytics: Finding What Truly Works

My mom is my hero. After migrating from Romania to the US with nine kids and then birthing three more, she and my dad raised twelve children on my dad’s post office income. Although we didn’t have much, our home was always open, and mom found ways to feed everyone who walked through the door. My mom could make anything work. She is amazing.

As incredible as she is, age and health challenges have taken their toll. Over the years, she’s tried countless remedies: eating pineapple every day, drinking teas that smelled like gasoline, innumerable supplements, and even getting stung by bees! When I asked her, “Mom, how do you know what’s actually helping?” She admitted she didn’t, but hoped that by trying everything, something would stick.

Are you taking that same scattershot approach with your website strategies? You’ve likely heard about the tactics that can increase traffic and conversions: ads, calls-to-action, landing pages, newsletters, SEO, and more. These are all good, but without proper tracking, how do you know which ones are moving you toward your goals?

Each strategy costs you time and money – resources too valuable to waste. That’s where analytics come in.

The Power of Analytics

Analytics are the key to understanding user behavior and measuring the true impact of your efforts, understanding who your visitors are, where they’re coming from and how they interact with your website. With the right tracking in place, you can answer critical questions like:

  • Which landing pages have the highest engagement rates?
  • What paths do users take before converting?
  • Which calls-to-action are effective and which go unnoticed?
  • And much more!

While Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is free and useful for basic metrics tracking, true growth comes from custom tracking and in-depth analytics. Then you can make changes to your website based on what you actually know is or is not working.

The old saying rings true: “If you can measure it, you can manage it.”

Don’t just guess – know what’s driving your success with the power of analytics. Every dollar counts for your cause, and understanding your data can help you make the most of each one.
