Over the past few months, I’ve been working with our friends at The Leader’s Journey to provide content strategy.

They have a very successful podcast, loyal clients, and a team of coaches ready to contribute original ideas. So we created an ambitious content calendar that includes podcasts, videos, blog posts, emails, webinars, book clubs, and virtual training.

And let me tell you… putting out that much content is not easy.

It’s a lot of content, and getting everything drafted, reviewed, and published takes real work.

Within a few weeks, we heard what we expected: “We can’t keep up!” It felt like a fruitless uphill battle.

But here’s what we saw:

The first email newsletter they sent (after a long silence) led to the highest website traffic they’d ever had. Hundreds of people visited their resources, staff bios, and scheduling page – because they finally had a clear message reaching the right people.

What we’ve learned – and what we’re reminding ourselves and our clients lately – is this:

✅ You don’t need to post every day—just create a rhythm

✅ You don’t need a perfect newsletter—just a clear message

✅ You don’t need five platforms—just one you’ll actually use

✅ You don’t need to follow your content plan perfectly—just be consistent

If that sounds helpful, let’s talk.

The purpose of a strategic content calendar isn’t perfection. It’s connection.

A lot of businesses and organizations let the idea of perfection hold them back from just getting something out there.

Yes, their content calendar spans a handful of platforms and media. But that one email had a tangible impact.

(In fact, one of our nonprofit clients made over $10k from one end-of-year fundraising email written at the last minute).

Spring is a great time to reset. Simplify. Pick what’s working. Let go of what’s not. And just start!

If your team is juggling a million things, here are a few simple places to begin:

  • Website: Update your services, pricing, and key calls to action
  • Social: Pick one channel and post a short video or two each week
  • EmailSend one helpful email this month—even if it’s short

Want to be more strategic about your content? We’re here to help.
